How long does it take to recover from a Butt Lift surgery?

Patients must follow the doctor’s instructions for the buttock lift aftercare. The recovery timeframe differs from patient to patient according to their age, health, and lifestyle.

Week 1: The first week is crucial because you just went through surgery. You may find it hard to get used to the changes and adjustments needed for a stable recovery. Your doctor will probably put you on an all-liquid diet for 3-4 days to avoid complications. Although you can walk around in your house from time to time any drastic movements are prohibited. You will also be asked to clean the surgical site twice a day including changing the dressing and bandages. Smoking and alcohol can delay healing so doctors specifically ask patients to stay away from them at least for the first 2 weeks.

Week 2: The swelling does noticeably go down at this point in your recovery journey. You can start having normal food with semi-solid foods such as mashed vegetables, rice, pasta, etc. It is better to keep your diet lightweight and digestible at this point. The doctor asks you to come for your follow-up appointment. Your stitches if they are not the dissolvable kind are removed at this point. Again, smoking and alcohol must be avoided. You can go back to work by this time and resume most of your everyday routine activities.

Week 3: Drastic improvement in the swelling may be seen by the third week. You can resume your everyday activities such as going to work and driving.

Week 4: Any swelling and pain subside by this time. You can go back to your regular life and may also start working out. It is important to ask your doctor before working out though to avoid any mishaps.
